The GUIDELINES of the MISSIONS WORLDWIDE org
12 June 2017

Firstly I have to state that we are not yet a registered charity, although hopefully we will soon be one. Secondly, at present most of the details listed are involving people in Manchester but can be for any church or person who would like to get involved.

These ten statements outline the latest things that are happening. And they are very much for you the reader to add comments and or get involved where you may feel the Lord is calling you to work.

1) Aim - In order for churches to function better we need to grow in acceptance with other churches. I believe that eventually part of the work we do will become a registered charity known as the Esme Joan Project. Whereas we do not have the finances at present but eventually when a charity is set up, any money raised will go to helping orphanages and schools abroad.

2) Vision - This is to help start and encourage churches to both grow in size and spiritually. This is mainly done by providing good, sound and solid bible teaching.

3) Missions - There are of course many from other churches doing such work abroad. Missionary training can start with local church based work, e.g. outreach to the homeless and door to door work, and senior citizen’s groups and then extend worldwide. We can either work with other church/missionary groups and we may be able to form our own missionary sending base or organisation.

4) Orphanages and schools - To help build and support these will necessitate checking out various projects overseas and people who are over there and can return to us here in person [or send info by email] and can give trusted reports. I believe very much that that we CANNOT preach the loving Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ without providing essential needs to needy people also.
5) Evangelism. To encourage church members/believers from the sending base to travel to places in this country and abroad to spread the good news of the Gospel. We have already started to do this. In doing so we can visit mission bases to encourage small churches who may need our help.
I believe we can work with as many missionary groups as possible. The more we can find to help the better. ‘More unity more strength’.

6) Bible Study. More time could be spent in studying the word. In doing this we can train each other up spiritually. Whereas social events are very good, bible teaching groups are perhaps more important to strengthen faith. The bible address or lecture, and home bible group are excellent ways to encourage and teach the fellowship of believers.

7) Study of church history - This is useful for us as we go forward in the Lord’s work, to learn by mistakes of the past. also, of course it’s important to learn how to structure church life and create a framework in order to do meetings, bibles studies and work in the community. It would be good to have a church planting/training course or training programme that people can join in from this country or abroad, perhaps short term. I would like to suggest France, Spain and Eastern Europe as good countries to train/work in. There are also needy areas in the UK that can be considered, for example, Southern Ireland Newport S. Wales, the East End of London and nearer home, in Harpurhey.

8) The Esme Joan Project - this is what I have called the work named after my late Mother. This will hopefully be the name of the charity which will aim to help fund orphanages and schools and perhaps hospices in poorer countries.
It is the very early stages at the moment and I am looking at countries and places within them that genuinely need help and support. If anyone reading this is interested in being part of this new venture please get in touch. Hopefully a trust will be set up soon, for further details please ask.

9) Going The Extra Mile, This is mainly and hopefully will eventually be a training course to train up people to go abroad and help churches or situations with humanitarian needs. If you would like your mission or outreach team to be added here, please let me know.

10) Strengthen What Remains. Is to help Christians in countries where they are persecuted for their faith. To encourage prayer for them and also to obtain the literature. Also of course go online and check about the Lord’s work through the Barnabas Fund and Open Doors. And keep updated with issues and pray through the regular prayer needs.
